Straight Answers About Your Google Business Listing

No SEO theatre. These are the questions business owners actually ask when they are trying to work out whether their Google listing matters and what they should do with it.

01

Do I need a website if I already have a Google listing?

Not always for the same reason, but they do different jobs. Your Google listing helps people discover and compare you quickly. A website gives you more space to explain services, prices, proof, policies and the wider business.

02

Do I need Instagram if I have Google?

Again, they do different jobs. Instagram is often strongest for followers, personality and visual proof. Google can be where a new local customer first discovers you. Keeping one does not automatically keep the other current.

03

Will posting to Google put me at number one?

No one can honestly promise that. Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and prominence. Useful, accurate profile information is worth maintaining, but posting alone does not let a provider control the ranking.

04

How often should I update my Google listing?

There is no universal magic posting number. Update factual information when it changes and share useful real business activity when it helps a customer understand what you do. Do not create filler just to hit a quota.

05

Can I manage it myself?

Yes. If you have the time and are comfortable doing it, you can manage your own listing. MapRank is for owners who would rather remove the recurring writing and admin from their week.

06

Do you need my Google password?

No. Where access is needed, Digital Cove uses authorised Google Business Profile or manager access rather than asking for your personal Google password.
